Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

At Fight To Win (FTW), we strive to give excellent instruction to each student. Through a systematic method of learning and drilling techniques, each student is given the freedom to grow at their own pace. Whether you are a recreational student who just wants to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) and get in shape or a competitive athlete looking for a greater challenge, FTW is the best decision you can make

Fundamentals Class

The fundamentals class is an introduction to BJJ with the gi (the traditional uniform). Here we focus on basics of movement, balance and self-defense. The class will consist of stretching, learning how to fall, basic ground techniques and drilling movements. There is no live sparring in this class; instead, we practice competitive sparring drills that develop a foundation in the sport. The class will cover everything that is needed to comfortably transition into the advanced program.

Advanced Class

This is where the art truly begins to take shape. In this class, we focus on improving fundamentals and transitions as well as building a personal style for each student. Time will be spent learning the intricacies of takedowns and groundfighting techniques, followed by a live sparring session. All students are currently invited to join the advanced program. Just be aware that it is a slightly faster paced program focusing primarily on the more advanced students.

Judo

The Judo program is to help students understand the essence off-balancing and take downs with the gi. Here we work on traditional Judo with an emphasis on transitions to the ground. This class has a strong focus on competition Jiu Jitsu, but is still suitable for all students.

Gracie Self-Defense

Self-Defense classes are centered on the battle tested techniques developed by Grand Master Helio Gracie. They are designed to put jiu jitsu into more "real life" situations, including strikes, take downs, clench work and ground techniques. Here we will focus on the leverage and balance needed for a smaller person to fend off a much larger attacker. We currently offer Gracie Self Defense on Wednesday evening from 6:30pm-7pm. The program will be expanded as needed and Self Defense seminars will be offered on a regular basis.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

The mixed martial arts (MMA) program will incorporate striking from the feet and the ground, closing the distance for takedowns and implement overall combat training strategies. This class will focus heavily on conditioning and sparring. The Concord school focuses on grappling arts. For those seriously interested in training MMA please visit out South Charlotte location. Private Lessons

Private lessons are an excellent way to quickly improve your overall game. Each person learns at a different pace, so nothing is more effective than one-on-one attention from the instructor on the particular areas of your game that require improvement. Please see your instructor for available times and pricing.
