This Friday Sept. 11th we have a small group planning on kicking things off at about 6:30-7pm, Jae will lead a basic striking session, then well do a quick cardio session followed by some No-Gi grappling. About 30-40 min for the striking and ground sessions, about 20 min for the cardio.

Eventually we will probably start looking to combine things into an MMA sparring session but for now we will start off very basic, particularly with the striking.

Give a shout if your interested, if you have any ideas on what/how to train this stuff, and/or if there is something else you think we would benefit from incorporating into the training sessions. All ideas welcome!

Very cool gil...Maybe we can work some of that into saturdays or sundays as well. I'd love to learn to strike

Nice!

I love the idea, this particular Friday I have something planned that starts around the same time, trying to decide if I can come to FTW for an hour and go late to the event, but may just have to wait until next time.

I am game for this.

Anybody planning on training this Friday night, 9/18?

Just as an FYI, cardio was skipped last week and more than likely will be this week as well. We had just enough time to work the basic strikes and one ground technique. That's more than likely going to be the format for a while. As the group shows progress well go about tweaking things.

Lets shoot for around 7pm, training for a couple of hours tops.

Big Rob, its going to be on like a pot of neck bones! Make sure you bring those anvils you call fist. I need to get Geoff in there man, I think he is going to be the only one who will be able to hold pads for you once you get a bit more technique down.

Tonight was awesome folks. I actually considered not coming in and I am very glad I changed my mind. Thanks for leading things and sharing your knowledge Kenny. The ground striking was eye opening to say the least, can't wait to do more of that!

yes it does matter

Classic Poutine

The French fries are of medium thickness, and fried so that the insides are still soft, with an outer crust. The gravy is a light chicken, veal or turkey gravy, mildly spiced with a hint of pepper. Heavy beef or pork-based brown gravies are typically not used. Fresh cheese curd (not more than a day old) is used.
